The ending to Game 2 of the first-round series between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night at Madison Square Garden deserves a play in the Louvre. It had the entire Garden rocking, as Jalen Brunson and company managed to steal a 104-101 win after an exhilarating and successful last-minute comeback attempt versus the Sixers.

Carmelo Anthony, Other New York Knicks Legends Couldn’t Believe What Happened

With the Knicks down by five points with under 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Brunson managed to knock down a 3-pointer to cut the Sixers lead down to two points. New York then stole the ball from Tyrese Maxey. Donte DiVincenzo then fired a 3-point attempt that missed. Fortunately for New York, Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed the offensive rebound and passed the leather to OG Anunoby who then found DiVincenzo free at the top of the arc. DiVincenzo, without hesitation, launched another 3-point attempt that went in to put the Knicks ahead by a point with just 13.1 seconds left on the clock.

That shot had every fan in the arena standing up and just losing it, including Carmelo Anthony, John Starks, and Latrell Sprewell.

The Knicks added two more points to their lead off of a pair of free throws from Anunoby.

That win perhaps defined the grittiness of the Knicks better than any game they have played so far this season. They will now turn their attention to furthering their series lead with Games 3 and 4 happening in Philly on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.
